Duterte vow to double cops’ pay will inspire them to do better
Doubling the salary of policemen, as promised by incoming President Rodrigo Duterte, will certainly encourage the cops to do their jobs better as it will boost their morale.
The spokesperson of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday thanked Duterte for his promise not just to increase but to double the salaries of the members of the 160,000-police force.
During the campaign period, Duterte repeatedly stated in his speeches his plan for the salaries of cops.
He said the increase would be implemented so that members of the PNP, perceived to be one of the most corrupt government agencies, would no longer engage in corrupt activities.
Wilben Mayor said in a press briefing at Camp Crame.

Mayor urged all PNP personnel to shape up and prove to the people that they are deserving of a higher pay, which would come from the taxes of the people.
As for the unscrupulous members of the PNP, the spokesperson advised them to leave the organization as early as now.
RC/rga
