Real estate broker nabbed for bomb joke at MRT

MANILA — A real estate broker was arrested for dropping a bomb joke at the Metro Rail Transit – North Avenue Station in Quezon City on Tuesday.

Israel Dizon, 39, a resident of Valenzuela City, underwent inquest for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1727 also known as the anti-bomb joke law and remained detained at the Quezon City Police District – Masambong Station as of Wednesday, police said.

PO2 Winston Semaña, case investigator, said Dizon was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after he said there was a bomb in his bag. Dizon made the remark after a lady guard called his attention for failing to present his bag for inspection.

Dizon was immediately arrested and turned over to the police station for the investigation of his case.

PD 1727 declares unlawful the malicious dissemination of false information and wilful threat concerning bombs, explosives or any similar device.

Convicted violators face five years in jail or a fine of P40,000 or both depending on the court’s ruling.  SFM
