PUP declares ‘Black and White Friday’ for slain official

MANILA, Philippines — The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) has called on its students, teachers and employees to wear black or white this Friday as a sign of mourning for the death of Attorney Augustus Cezar, the university’s vice president for administration, a report on Radyo Inquirer 990AM said.

Cezar was shot dead Wednesday by unidentified suspects for still unknown reasons, the report said.

Tagged as the “Black and White Friday” movement, the gathering hopes to symbolize not only truth but a call for swift justice, PUP said.

The remains of Cezar lie in state at the PUP chapel in Manila.
