‘What stacks of evidence?’: Trillanes says Binay lying in pol ad
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Tuesday accused Vice President Jejomar Binay of lying and trying to deceive the public with the latter’s television advertisement, showing piles of evidence, which he had supposedly submitted to disprove the corruption allegations being hurled at him.
But contrary to what Binay was allegedly trying to project in his ad, Trillanes said the documents in the video were the evidence against the Vice President and not the other way around.
In the ad, which was played during the hearing of the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee, Binay said: “Sa dami ng aming paliwanag at mga dokumentong ipinadala ay hindi nila pinansin. Wala talagang balak pakinggan ang katotohanan.”
(They never paid attention to the explanation and documents we presented. They were never planning to side with the truth.)

(Bring out those folders. The folders behind me were the exact, same folders presented on his commercial.)

(For your information, these folders used in the commercial of Vice President Binay are evidence against him.)

(He did not submit those documents. We collected them as evidence against him and some copies were already forwarded to the Ombudsman.)
In the contrary, the senator said, Binay had only submitted an affidavit to the subcommittee “by virtue of a subpoena.”
“Ako po ang nagpa subpoena n’yan…Ito lang po ang ebidensyang isinabmit ni Vice President Binay, mga general denials so hindi po totoo ‘yan,” he said.
(I was the one who summoned those documents. Vice President Binay only issued general denials.)
(It’s quite obvious in this instance that thieves and liars are two peas in one pod because his statement in this advertisement clearly deceives the people. Let me just make it clear that the folders he used on his ad are actually evidence against him.) IDL
