Binay is top TV ad spender among presidential bets

Vice President Jejomar Binay is the top spender on television advertisement among the presidential aspirants in the 2106 national elections, data from the Nielsen Philippines showed.

Based on the monitoring done by Nielsen from January 1 and November 30, 2015, Binay spent P595, 713,000 for television advertisements.

Senator Grace Poe was on the second spot with P448,166,000, followed by former interior secretary and Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II with P424,870,000.

FEATURED STORIES

The tough-talking Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte came in fourth with P115, 423,000. The combined TV ad spending of the four presidential candidates was at about P1.6 billion.

Among the vice presidential bets, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano was the biggest spender with P398,288,000, followed by Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. with P103,429,000.

Camarines Sur Rep. Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo came in second with P91, 602,000 followed by Sen. Gregorio Honasan with P43, 580,000.

Sen. Francis Escudero was on the bottom for having spent only P30,000.

Among the senatorial aspirants, Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez was the top spender with P310,763,000.

Former energy secretary Jericho Petilla – P52,284,000

Former Tesda chief Joel Villanueva – P40,518,000

Sen. Serge Osmeña – P21,990,000

Former Akbayan lawmaker Risa Hontiveros – P20,287,000

Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares – P4,363,000

Broadcaster Rey Langit – P405,000

Meanwhile, no television ad spending expenditures were recorded for presidential aspirant and Rep. Roy Señeres, vice presidential aspirant Sen.Antonio Trillanes IV, and senatorial bets Sen. Teofisto Guingona III, Representatives Roman Romulo of Pasig City and Manny Pacquiao of Sarangani.
