Fire hits former Robina office building
A nine-hour fire broke out in the building that used to house the main office of food and beverage firm Universal Robina Corp. (URC) on Kamagong Street, Barangay Bagong Ilog in Pasig City, past midnight Wednesday.
The fire apparently started at the Information Systems room on the second floor of the four-story structure around 12:12 a.m., according to Senior Insp. Anthony Arroyo, chief arson investigator of the Pasig central fire station.
It spread and also damaged the third and fourth floors before it was declared out around 9 a.m. No deaths or injuries were reported and the cost of damage was estimated at P10 million, said substation commander Senior Insp. Eugene Briones.
The building ceased to be the URC main office on Nov. 6 after the company relocated to Libis, Quezon City, officials said. The cause of the fire remained under investigation at press time.
