New AFP officers told: Help keep polls peaceful

/ 06:32 AM December 05, 2015

Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin urged the 152 new officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to help ensure that next year’s elections will be peaceful.

Gazmin, along with AFP chief Gen. Hernando Iriberri led the synchronized graduation of the officer candidate courses (OCC) yesterday in Camp Aguinaldo.

Gazmin, who read President Aquino’s message, stressed that the new officers’ biggest challenge will be next year’s elections.

“Our people will face a new crossroad, where we will choose a new leader who will take charge of the course of our nation. I’m certain that all of you will do everything in your capacity to make certain that our election will be peaceful and secure,” he said.
