IF charges would be filed against President Benigno Aquino III when he steps down next year, there would be no special treatment under a Mar Roxas administration.
Roxas, who has been tapped by Aquino himself to become the standard-bearer of the ruling Liberal Party, assured that there would be fair treatment on the handling of cases that may be filed against Aquino once he’s out of Malacañang.
At the Meet the Inquirer Multimedia forum on Wednesday, Roxas said he is firm in his belief that Aquino neither stole money from the people nor he was involved in any corrupt activities.
“Kung malinis ka, hindi ka nagnakaw, hindi ka nakisawsaw sa kaban ng bayan, yes it’s a pain in the neck, yes it’s harassment but in the end, mapapawalang sala ka,” said Roxas.
“And I am firm in my belief that the President is true to his oath of office,” he added.

“I don’t expect cases to be filed but there are always cases. You can never stop anybody from suing you,” he said.
“But what you can control is actually what you do,” Roxas added.
