Italian taken at gunpoint in Dipolog City

ZAMBOANGA CITY — An Italian national was abducted by still unidentified gunmen in Dipolog City Wednesday night.
Senior Superintendent Chiquito Malayo, chief of the Regional Police Intelligence Division in Western Mindanao, identified the victim as Rolando del Torchio, who lives in Barangay Miputak.
Malayo said del Torchio, who owns a pizza restaurant, was taken at about 7 p.m. by armed men in a white van.
“The getaway vehicle was left along Dipolog Boulevard. The abductors and the victim reportedly transferred to two pump boats and headed out to sea,” he said. CB
