Despite all the talk, Leni has no LP invite

SAN SIMON, Pampanga—Although Liberal Party (LP) leaders have announced they were courting Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo as running mate of Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, a formal invitation from either the LP or Roxas has yet to come, Robredo’s daughter said here on Monday.

Janine Patricia “Tricia” Robredo, the lawmaker’s daughter, gave the update when the Inquirer asked about her mother’s decision on a possible bid to become the country’s next Vice President.

“There is nothing to decide on calls for her to run as Vice President to Secretary Mar. It’s only in social media. There’s no formal invite from the LP or from Secretary Mar,” Tricia, 21, said.

Reports said Roxas was more eager in getting Sen. Grace Poe as his running mate.

Despite that, Tricia said she and her sisters, Jessica Marie and Jillian Therese, are going to help in the campaign of Roxas because their father, the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, was “very, very close” to the secretary.
