Palace condemns killing of Davao del Norte press club president

MALACANANG on Wednesday condemned the killing of another media man in Davao del Norte.

Gregorio Ybañez, president of the Davao del Norte Press and Radio-TV Club, died on Wednesday morning after he was shot on Tuesday night.

“We strongly condemned the killing of Mr. Gregory Y. Ybañez, President of the Davao del Norte Press and Radio-TV Club in Tagum City, Davao del Norte last night,” Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a statement.

Coloma said the Philippine National Police (PNP) has been ordered to pursue the assailants.

“The PNP is tasked with pursuing the suspects and bringing them to the bar off justice,” he said.
