4 of 5 cops in Manila rubout surrender
Four of the five Manila policemen caught in a security camera killing an unarmed suspected robber surrendered on Friday evening.
Gulod Police Community Precinct commander Senior Insp. Rommel Salazar, Police Officer 3 Ferdinand Valera, Police Officers 1 Ronald Dipacina and Diomar Landoy surrendered before Manila Police District Station 4 Supt. Mannan Muarip.
The four were taken to MPD headquarters by Muarip.
Only PO1 Rhorl Landrito remains at large.
MPD Chief Supt. Rolando Nana said he was hoping that Landrito would also surrender anytime soon.
“Meron na ring feelers, anytime siguro kung ma-contact eh makapag-surrender na rin eventually,” Nana told reporters.

Muarip, meanwhile, said the four told him they were bothered by the news so they went to see their families.
“Pagkakasabi nila, medyo bothered din sila sa naibabalita against sa kanila so nagpunta muna sila sa kanilang mahal sa buhay at nangunsulta,” Muarip said.
“Nung napagmuni muni na kailangan talagang bumalik dito kasi nga hinahanap na rin sila, that led to their surrender,” he said, adding they sent an emissary and a breakthrough came around 4:55 p.m.
“Nag-voluntary appearance sila sa akin dito sa may area ng Yakal Street sa Bambang. After that dinala na dito sa district for them to be accounted properly,” Muarip said.
Nana said a separate administrative case would be filed against the police officers.
“It will be determined by the internal affairs service kasi may death po dito, siguro grave misconduct,” Nana said.
