Courts in areas under orange rainfall warning may suspend work

Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on Friday authorized Executive Judges in areas covered by the orange rainfall warning to exercise discretion in ordering work suspension in their areas.

As of 5A.M., based on Pagasa’s Heavy Rainfall Warning, areas under Orange Warning Level are Bulacan, Zambales, Cavite and Batangas.

The Orange Warning Level constitutes 15 to 30 milimeters per hour and flooding is a threat to communities under this warning.

But Te clarified that there is no work suspension in Metro Manila courts.

“In absence of typhoon signal, We are following the Pagasa color-coded rainfall warning as a guide,” Te said in a text message.
