Air Force light plane nosedives in Legazpi Airport; no one hurt
LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines—An Air Force Fokker plane nosedived in the runway at the Legazpi City Airport, causing delays in some flights here Monday morning.
Lt. Colonel Luisito Angeles, commander of Tactical Operations Group 5 of the Philippine Air Force, said the nose landing gear of the Fokker F27 failed, causing it to nosedive on the runway at 10:13 a.m.
He said the six passengers of the plane who came from Mactan Cebu were safe.
“They were here for a mission, we are doing our best effort to remove the aircraft in the runway,” said Angeles.
He said flights of the Cebu Pacific plane had been temporarily suspended.
