Manhunt launched for teen who beheaded uncle in Iloilo
ILOILO CITY, Philippines—A manhunt operation has been launched to arrest a 19-year-old man accused of beheading his uncle in Concepcion town, Iloilo province.
Senior Insp. Jonathan Pinuela, the Concepcion police chief, said Jonathan Rey Arangat might have been holding a grudge against Noli Arangat, 49, that drove the teenager to kill his uncle on Tuesday evening.
Police said the Arangat family members were having a drinking spree in Sitio Dungkaan, on the island-barangay of Taluto-an, Concepcion, about 9 p.m. on April 21.
Without provocation, Arangat took a bolo and hacked his uncle, Noli, in the neck, severing his head.
The victim also sustained hack wounds in the face and other parts of the body, police said.
Concepcion, especially the island-barangay of Taluto-an, is one of the areas in northern Iloilo that have been devastated by supertyphoon Yolanda on Nov. 8, 2013.
