Did you know: National Scientist Jose R. Velasco’s 99th birth anniversary

Today, Feb. 4, is the 99th birth anniversary of National Scientist Jose R. Velasco. Born in 1916, Velasco was known as a plant physiologist and science educator. He was conferred the National Scientist Award in 1998. Velasco died on Jan. 24, 2007. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
