Senate resumes hearing sans Mayor Jun-Jun Binay
MANILA, Philippines — The Senate blue ribbon subcommittee resumed its hearing on Thursday without waiting for Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Jun-Jun” Binay.
The hearing on alleged anomalies in Makati City started even as Binay was on his way to the Senate after being arrested by the chamber’s sergeant-at-arms.
Binay and five other resource persons were ordered arrested and detained at the chamber for their refusal to appear before the subcommittee’s investigation into the allegedly overpriced Makati city Hall 2 carpark building.
Others ordered arrested and detained were Atty. Eleno Mendoza, Ms. Eduviges Ebeng Baloloy, Marjorie de Veyra, Engineer Line Dela Pena, and Bernadette Portollano.
