Senate teams deployed to arrest Mayor Jun-Jun Binay
MANILA, Philippines — At least two arresting teams left the Senate Thursday morning to serve the arrest order on Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Jun-Jun” Binay and five other resource persons.
The arresting teams led by Sergeant-At-Arms Jose Baladia left the Senate compound at about 8:30 a.m.
They were expected to bring Binay and the five others to the Senate before the hearing of the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee scheduled at 9 a.m.
The six were cited in contempt and ordered arrested and detained for their refusal to appear before the subcommittee investigating the allegedly overpriced Makati City Hall 2 parking building.
The five others ordered arrested and detained were Atty. Eleno Mendoza, Ms. Eduviges Ebeng Baloloy, Marjorie de Veyra, Engineer Line Dela Pena, and Bernadette Portollano.
