Clerk bags P16-M jackpot
A 31-year-old sales clerk from Makati City can now buy whatever she wants after she bagged the P16-million jackpot in last week’s 6/49 lotto draw.
According to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) acting Chair and general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, the woman hit the winning number combination of 12-04-33-05-10-07 on Jan. 22, by combining the birth dates and ages of her husband and their child.
The country’s newest millionaire—a longtime lotto bettor—told Rojas that she would use some of her winnings to buy a house for her family and put the rest in the bank for her child’s education and her family’s future needs.
Rojas, meanwhile, said that starting next week, lotto bettors would have the chance to win a jackpot of at least P50 million with the introduction of the Ultra Lotto 6/58 game.
He added that the game would start on Feb. 7, with the first draw to be held the following day while succeeding draws would be conducted on Sundays and Fridays.
With a jackpot of P50 million, Ultra Lotto 6/58 will be the PCSO’s game with the highest minimum guaranteed prize. Right now, the Grand Lotto 6/55 has the highest minimum jackpot prize at P30 million, followed by Super Lotto 6/49 (P16 million), Mega Lotto 6/45 (P9 million) and 6/42 (P6 million). Jovic Yee
