MANILA, Philippines – At least 10 persons were hurt before dawn Sunday in a ‘minor’ stampede at the Luneta Park, in Manila, where visiting Pope Francis will lead a Mass at 3:30 p.m.

In an interview over DZBB, Johnny Yu, officer-in-charge of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Council, said the stampede occurred after the people lining to see the Pope and hear Mass started pushing each other.

The Pope will first visit the University of Santo Tomas in Manila in the morning before proceeding to the park to officiate his concluding Mass in the afternoon.

The Pope will leave on Monday, ending his five-day trip to the country.
