The flights were canceled amid heavy rains pounding the country on Christmas Eve due to the diffused tail-end of a cold front.

The state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Wednesday also issued a yellow rainfall warning in Metro Manila and nearby provinces Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Bulacan, and Bataan.

A yellow rainfall alert means 7.5-15 mm amount of rain in an hour which is expected to go on in the next two hours. Flooding is also expected in low-lying areas.
