Aquino declares October 6 a regular holiday in observance of Eidul Adha

MANILA, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino III has declared October 6 (Monday) a regular holiday in observance of Eidul Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice through Proclamation no. 875.

Signed on September 12, the proclamation cited Eidul Adha as one of the two greatest feasts of Islam and shall be celebrated as a regular holiday throughout the nation as provided by Republic Act No. 9849.

The date of observance was recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).

Eidul Adha is the Islamic festival remembering and commemorating the trials and triumphs of the Prophet Abraham.
