Man shoots brother dead, hacks another sibling

NAGA CITY, Philippines—Police are on a manhunt for a man who shot dead his brother while wounding another brother with a “bolo” (machete) in Aroroy town in Masbate Friday evening.

Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesman of the Bicol police, said Bobby Bertuldo, 40, fled after shooting brother Tata, 28, and hacking another brother, Sammy, 36, in Barangay San Isidro, Aroroy at around 6 p.m.

Calubaquib said Bobby attacked Sammy with a bolo after a heated argument over a fishpond they shared when Tata tried to intervene.
But Bobby shot Tata who was dead on the spot.

Sammy was brought to the Aroroy Municipal Hospital for medical treatment.

Bobby fled carrying with him the weapons he used in the attacks.
