bohol-mapCEBU CITY—At least 10 persons were wounded on Thursday morning when a passenger bus hit the approach slab of the Malitbog Bridge in Dagohoy town, Bohol and fell on its side.

Inspector Andy Corpus, Dagohoy police chief, said in a phone interview that the Southern Star Bus loaded with at least 10 passengers, came from Talibon town and was heading to the capital city of Tagbilaran when the accident happened at 6 a.m.

He said bus driver Roberto Saga was speeding in an attempt to overtake another bus while about to enter the Malitbog bridge. Corpus said the bus rammed into the bridge’s approach slab. The impact caused the bus to fall on its side.
