House adjourns session

MANILA, Philippines—The House of Representatives adjourned its first regular session under the 16th Congress on Wednesday, with over 200 bills passed.

Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. in his speech said the chamber approved 212 House bills on third and final reading during its first regular session.

Among the prominent bills approved by the chamber and included in the priority list are those for graphic health warnings on cigarettes, Pagasa modernization program, national land use, among others.
Minority floor leader Ronaldo Zamora, who presided the closing session, said he is grateful for the leadership of Belmonte Jr. as well as of Majority floor leader Neptali Gonzales II.
