Bomb explodes outside Sultan Kudarat village chair’s home

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines – A bomb exploded outside the residence of a village chair in Barangay Poblacion, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Superintendent Rex Dela Rosa, Sultan Kudarat police chief, said the improvised explosive device was placed in a cement mixer parked in front of the house of village chair Ferdinand Agduma.

No one was hurt in the explosion but it damaged Agduma’s house, Dela Rosa told reporters.

The incident had caused traffic congestion along the national highway, which was closed for two hours as authorities looked for possible additional bombs.
