Cop stabs wife with pair of scissors

/ 07:59 AM September 17, 2011

A POLICEMAN allegedly stabbed his wife using a pair of scissors inside their house in barangay Suba Basbas, Lapu-Lapu City, on Thursday evening.

Cherry Faith Dunque, 39, who reported the incident to the Lapu-Lapu City Police at 10 p.m., said her husband, SPO4 Fermin Dunque stabbed her in the arm with a pair of scissors after a heated argument.

Senior Supt. Anthony Obenza, Lapu-Lapu City Police chief, however, said they couldn’t file a case against SPO4 Dunque if his wife, Cherry, wouldn’t file a complaint and bring a medical certificate showing the extent of her injury.

Obenza said Cherry could also file an administrative complaint against her husband if she would want to. /Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos
