5 children killed in Negros Occidental road accidents

MANILA, Philippines – Five minors were killed on a road accident in Negros Occidental Thursday evening, police said Friday.

Victims Eduardo Ventura, 16; Reylin Hornadal, 11; Roldan Inosa, 17; Regieboy Luto, 15; and Mark Anthony Pasinobo, 13; were killed after the tricycle they were riding slammed against a truck on the opposite lane of Osmena Avenue, National Highway in Barangay (village) 13 in Victorias town at around 11:50 p.m., said chief traffic investigator of Victorias police, Senior Police Officer 2 Luis Mulato.

He said that prior to the collision, the rear of the victims’ tricycle was hit by another tricycle.

The impact from the first collision caused the tricycle to shift towards the opposite lane where it hit the truck driven by Jomarie Aldas.

Aldas has been detained by police and faces a case of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide and serious physical injuries.
