Suspected Abu Sayyaf rebels release 4 hostages – military
MANILA, Philippines–Suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits have released the four people they abducted in Sulu last week, the military said Thursday.
According to Captain Maria Rowena Muyuela, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) information officer, the abductors released Mohamad Zaher Nain, 11, Alyza Farah Karanain, 8, Almalyn Abuhail, 17, and Sadam Amlih, 24.
Muyuela said that the victims were freed at around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay (village) Latih, Patikul, Sulu.
According to the report, the victims were abducted last March 3 in front of a clothing store along General Arola Street in Barangay Alat, Jolo.
Muyuela said that the 2nd Marine Brigade has coordinated with the Sulu Police Provincial Office to track down the men behind the abduction.
