Therapist found dead in toilet

AN occupational therapist was found hanging dead inside their toilet in sitio Pilit, barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City, on Sunday evening.

Alvin Adolfo, 35,  used a dog chain to hang himself with the other end tied to the beam of the ceiling in their comfort room.

Police initial investigation revealed that Adolfo’s mother, Ofelia, went to the second-floor toilet of their house to get a pair of hand gloves past 4 p.m.

When Ofelia found the door locked, she asked for her husband’s assistance to force the door open. They were surprised to find  Adolfo, a teacher at Cebu Doctors’ University, hanging by his neck.

The couple asked relatives to help them bring  Adolfo down and brought him to the  North General hospital, where he was already declared dead by Dr. Isagani Eris Quiliope.

SPO2 Marcos Nova of the Investigation and Detection Management Branch in Mandaue City Police Office said a certain “Leah” who claimed to be a friend of the victim said Adolfo had financial problems.

Leah said she befriended Adolfo since he is her mother’s therapist. She said Adolfo asked to borrow P30,000 from her. She promised to lend him money but not the full amount.

Noval said they recovered text messages from a bank in the victim’s mobile phone. The messages asked the victim to settle his dues.
