Twin surgeries for 2-yr-old
Ma. Guadalupe Tomaniog underwent open heart surgery in July 2012 due to a hole that affected her blood circulation. However, the medical procedure done at Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City sent the 2-year-old daughter of Marlon Tomaniog of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, into a coma. “The fact that she recovered and regained consciousness was a miracle in itself. It was the power of prayer at its best. It gave me strength to seek financial help from others,” Marlon told the Inquirer. He said that his daughter now needs to undergo two more procedures to reverse a tracheostomy (making a temporary opening in the neck to help a patient breathe) and gastrostomy (a temporary opening in the stomach wall to aid a patient in eating). The two procedures which will cost P125,000 will help Guadalupe live a normal life, Marlon added. Those who want to help the young girl can call Marlon at 0923-9105564. Donations can be deposited in Marlon’s BPI Family Savings Bank account (account no. 5596408593). Santiago R. Alcantara
