Work starts on Skyway Stage 3 project
After a long wait for the approval of its project, Citra Central Expressway Corp. (CCEC) will finally break ground for the 14.8-km Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 Project (MMSS3P) and start preliminary work on Osmeña Highway from F. Torres Street to Quirino Avenue in Manila.
CCEC, the Stage 3 proponent and concessionaire, a joint corporation of Citra Lamtoro Gung Persada and Philippine National Construction Corp. in partnership with San Miguel Corp., has tentatively scheduled the project’s groundbreaking this month.
Full-scale construction starts in April, with CCEC targeting completion of the project in 36 months or less.
To shorten the process of right-of-way acquisition and speed up completion, CCEC has adopted an engineering design unprecedented in the country, by constructing a “double-deck” roadway on certain sections of the Stage 3 alignment, from Plaza Dilao to N. Domingo in San Juan City and from Quezon Avenue to the end of Bonifacio Boulevard in Sgt. Rivera.
CCEC appeals for public understanding and cooperation as advance works on Osmeña may cause inconvenience.
To keep traffic moving and ensure public safety, protective devices will be installed and an adequate number of traffic personnel will be deployed.
