Bike theft victims urged to show up
POLICE are calling on carnapping victims to show up following the arrest of two men who were allegedly involved in motorcycle thefts.
John Rich Diaz and Jerry Ugnit were arrested last Wednesday in Dumaguete City.
“If there are complainants from Cebu, we can file more charges against these two suspects,” said Senior Insp. Oliver Plania, chief of the community relations of the Regional Highway Patrol Group in Central Visayas (RHPG-7), who visited the Cebu Daily News office.
Last Jan. 6, a motorcycle owned by Neil Napao was stolen while it was parked at the Holy Child Hospital in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
Fortunately, Napao spotted his motorcycle two days later while it was parked along San Jose Street in Dumaguete.
When the police arrived, Diaz and Ugnit were caught in possession of the motorcycle and were arrested./REPORTER ADOR VINCENT S. MAYOL
