DZIQ: LTFRB to strictly monitor school buses

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTRFB) will strictly monitor the safety measures of school buses on Radyo Inquirer report Monday.

MANILA, Philippines—The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTRFB) will strictly monitor the safety measures of school buses, Radyo Inquirer report said Monday.

Quoting LTFRB board member lawyer Manuel Iway, the report said that the LTFRB will be strict in ensuring that school buses have the necessary safety measures such as seatbelts, fire extinguishers and medical kits before the opening of classes in June.

The LTFRB also has its eyes on operators who overload school buses, said the report. The agency has however admitted that they cannot stop school bus operators from jacking up their fees.
