An airplane flying just above San Pedro town was negotiating to land at the nearby Ninoy Aquino International Airport when intermittent strong winds and heavy rains spawned by  supertyphoon ‘‘Yolanda’’ unleashed its fury. The province of Laguna darkened with heavy clouds.

Meanwhile, office employees in government offices in Siniloan town were already allowed to go home by their office heads including the municipal office as well as teachers and officials of schools there to prevent them from being trapped by possible floods and landslides.

At 11 a.m., electricity in Siniloan was cut off, according to resident Mary Ann Leopando.
