Police: Mastermind known

POLICE said they have already identified the mastermind in the killing of Assistant City Prosecutor Patricl Ian Osorio.

But his identity is being withheld until charges are filed against him and the gunman, said Chief Insp. Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Santander said police are still waiting for some documents before murder charges are filed.

Lyndon Horandoy, a 28-year-old barber was arrested Tuesday and signed a statement confessing to his role as one of two men on a motorbike who attacked Osorio.

Horandoy said he was paid to shoot the man, although he didn’t know Osorio beforehand.

Santander said investigators already have the name and picture of the mastermind.

Osorio was driving to school to pick up his children when he was shot dead along Gochan Street., Mambaling, Cebu City last Jan. 6, 2009.

Horandoy’s alleged cohort Allan Senogat was arrested in July 2009. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
