Bar dancer stabs fellow dancer

A bar dancer was stabbed and wounded by her co-worker in the dressing room of a bar in barangay Carreta, Cebu City last Thursday night.

Police said Erlinda Valdezamo Bongcawil, 30, of barangay Sambag Uno, Cebu City, was stabbed in the body by Hazel Panugan, 20.

The two women were dancers of Arena KTV Bar at the North Reclamation Area. Panugan surrendered to the police after the stabbing.

She was released yesterday afternoon after Bongcawil decided not to file charges against her.

The two women quarreled after Panugan heard a report that Bongcawil had befriended her boyfriend.

A confrontation took place.

Panugan denied the allegation, saying it was just a coincidence that their boyfriends have similar names.

The argument escalated into a fistfight.

During the scuffle, Panugan took a knife from her bag and stabbed the other dancer.

Other bar workers stepped in and stopped the fight.

Bongcawil was rushed to a Cebu City hospital.

In the end, both women reached an amicable settlement, said SPO1 Victorioso Ayuman, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).
