DRUG SUSPECT FALLS

POLICE arrested a suspected drug pusher whose alleged supplier is detained at the Cebu City Jail.

Roelito Yongco, a native of Asturias town and his alleged cohort Anthony Myahera were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8 p.m. Thursday in barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City.

Operatives of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group seized six packs of suspected shabu worth P90,000 from the two men.

Insp. Joey Dicoy said Yongco identified his supplier as one Jesley Labra who is curretnly detained at the Cebu City Jail.

Dicoy said they are still verifying Yongco’s claims.

EX-INMATE KILLED

A MAN was shot dead a month after he was released from jail in barangay La Purisima Concepcion, Bogo City, northern Cebu.

Police said Vicente Ybanez Soronio, 30, was shot shortly after arriving home with his daughter past 7 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Soronio had yet to get off from his motorcycle when two men on a motorcycle arrived and peppered him with bullets. Three spent shells of a .45 caliber pistol were recovered in the crime scene.

The assailants fled after the attack while Soronio was brought to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

Police said Soronio was jailed for a year before he was allowed to post bail last August.
