Ageless Rubi shines in Balaba motocross

PEPO RUBI proved to his rivals that age hasn’t caught up with him yet as the former top rider of Cebu City showed flashes of his old self during the 4th Kapitan Dennis Balaba Motocross Competition held recently at a specialized racetrack in Panoypoy, Consolacion.

Rubi, winner of numerous motocross titles in the past in the city and around the country, stamped his dominance in the executive division of the event, which was organized by brgy. captain Dennis S. Balaba, Deolito M. Codiniera, Jr. and Hon. Joel A. Montalla as part of the highlights of Panoypoy’s annual fiesta celebration in honor of Sr. San Gabriel.

Sharing the limelight with Rubi is another veteran rider Donkey Sanchez, who came up with a double championship after he ruled the expert and novice open categories.

In the underbone expert action, Wiwie Borces took the top spot followed by John Allen and RK Cuesta.

The top three performers in the local enduro were Renren Hisoler, Janjan Hisoler and JP Cuesta. /Correspondent Jade S. Violeta
