Typhoon ‘Tino’ enters PH
MANILA, Philippines – The typhoon east of extreme nothern Luzon has entered the Philippine area of responsibility and was named “Tino” (international name Wipha), the state weather bureau said on Monday.
“Tino” was last observed 1,210 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of of 160 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 195 kph.
It was forecast to move north northwest at 20 kph and was also expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Tuesday afternoon.
“Tino” will bring heavy to intense rains within its 1,000 kilometer-diameter, but will not directly affect the country.
