MANILA, Philippines – Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno suspended on Monday work in all courts in Manila and Quezon City due to the traffic caused by the humanitarian mission of Iglesia ni Cristo.

Included in the suspension of work is the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals and the Sandiganbayan.

“The CJ is suspending work for the SC and all appellate courts (CA, CTA and Sandiganbayan) including courts of Manila and QC only as of 1:30 PM today (Monday). This is due to the INC medical mission in Manila that has affected traffic in both cities,” high court information chief Theodore Te said in a text message.

“A skeletal force is requested to be maintained just to receive court-bound documents,” he added.
