City Gov’t commends mall for hiring senior citizens

/ 09:26 AM October 08, 2013

THE Cebu City council has unanimously approved a resolution commending SM City Cebu’s program on hiring senior citizens.

SM City Cebu and SM City Consolacion, through its SM Cares committee on senior citizens, recently launched the Seniors Community Program.

Select senior citizens from Cebu City were hired as greeters in mall entrances, female restroom assistants, foodcourt table usherettes, taxi passenger assistants, and cinema ticket booth guides for a period of six months with allowance and uniform. The senior citizens are required to render four hours service, two times a week.

The project aims to empower and extend sustainable assistance to the senior citizens and promote productive use of their skills and abilities.
