CAR HITS, KILLS BOY
A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy was killed after he was hit by a car in barangay Kalubihan, Cebu City yesterday morning.
Police said the victim, Christianlen Gonzales, was with his 67-year-old grandmother and 12-year-old cousin. They came from a fast food chain and were walking home when they met the accident.
Police said the three were crossing Borromeo Street when the boy and the grandmother were hit by a Toyota Tamaraw driven by George Ecoy, a 51-year-old resident of barangay Tisa, Cebu City.
Ecoy said the traffic light was green when the accident occurred. He said he didn’t notice that he hit a pedestrian until someone shouted at him.
Ecoy brought the boy to the Cebu City Medical Center where the victim was declared dead. The grandmother sustained minor injuries.

Man shot dead in Mandaue
A 32-YEAR-OLD man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City.
Jessie Jakosalem, a resident of sitio Sto. Nino, barangay Guizo, Mandaue, suffered gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.
Police investigation revealed that the victim was just standing with a couple of friends at an open shanty in the interior portion of Zone 3 when, an unidentified man whose face was covered, suddenly shot him several times.
The gunman immediately fled.
Police arrived minutes later with paramedics but the victim was already dead.
Police said illegal drug connections could be the motive of the attack.
