Pangasinan Rep hurt in road accident, pronounced safe

MANILA, Philippines — Pangasinan second-district Representative Leopoldo Bataoil was hurt in a road accident, a Radyo Inquirer report said Wednesday.

Bataoil, together with his daughter, Angela and driver, a Police Officer 3 Evangelista, were wounded after their Nissan Escapade van (ZET 264) collided with a Dagupan bus (DAS 578) at around 1 am,  Wednesday,  in Poblacion Bugallon, Pangasinan.

Citing reports from the Highway Patrol Group in Region 1, HPG director Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said the south-bound bus liner had just overtaken a motorcycle, and careered off Congressman Bataoil’s van on the opposite lane in an effort to evade a head-on collision.
