MANILA, Philippines — Professor Winnie Monsod on Wednesday canceled her lecture on the pork barrel system for the ‘Edsa Tayo’ prayer vigil after not being allowed by the Church.

Organizers of Edsa Tayo said Manila Archbishop Luis Cardinal Tagle prohibited the use of the enclosed area of Edsa Shrine for the lectures of Monsod and former national treasurer Leonor Briones.

The group said Monsod was already not feeling well, unable to stand the heat outside, prompting her to forego the lecture.
