HACKED BY NEIGHBOR

A 42-YEAR-OLD old man was hacked outside his home in barangay Maloray, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

Francisco Milan was wounded in the left arm and face.

The alleged assailant, Alex Tangpos, fled after the attack, police said.

Police said Milan was few meters from his house when he was waylaid.

The victim was taken to the Julio Cardinal Rosales Memorial Hospital.

GAMBLING MACHINES SEIZED

POLICE seized illegal gambling machines in barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City Friday night.

At least six video carrera and moli-moli machines were seized in the operation conducted by operatives of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office.

No one was arrested in the operation.

Chief Insp. Romeo Santander, chief of CIB, said they rushed to the area after receiving a tip about the presence of the illegal gambling machines.

Santander said they found the machines outside a house but no one claimed ownership of the machines. /CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

WOMAN HURT IN KNIFE ATTACK

A 21-YEAR-OLD woman landed in hospital after her male neighbor attacked her with a knife Friday night in barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City.

Angel Arpon was wounded in the neck.

The victim’s deaf-mute neighbor was apprehended by police after the incident.

Prior to the incident, police said the two neighbors argued after the victim accused the man of stealing her money.

The man denied the accusation against him.

Police said the man chanced upon the victim along a road and assaulted her with a kitchen knife.
