Man killed by nephew

A 53-year-old farmer was stabbed dead by his nephew in barangay Canlukban, Oslob town, southern Cebu last Friday evening.

Ernesto Dela Rosa suffered a stab wound in the abdomen. He was declared dead after he was taken to a hospital.

The suspect, Luciano Aninon, 29, surrendered to the police after the incident.

Police said Aninon and his mother were walking home when they met Dela Rosa.

PO1 Sherwin Cejudo, desk officer of Oslob Police Station, said the victim who was allegedly  drunk  suddenly slapped Aninon’s mother.

Aninon’s father saw the incident and confronted Dela Rosa which led to a fistfight. Police said Dela Rosa overpowered Aninon’s father.

Aninon ran to help his father, but he too was beaten up by Dela Rosa, prompting him to get a bolo and attack his uncle./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
