US Embassy suspends services due to ‘Maring’

MANILA, Philippines – The United States Embassy in Manila suspended Monday its consular services due to severe flooding brought by tropical storm Maring (international name: Trami).

U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Harry K. Thomas Jr. said in his official Twitter account that the embassy expects to resume its operations on Tuesday.

 
Meanwhile, the embassy has released an advisory in their official Facebook account saying those with scheduled visa interview will be moved to another date.

 
It advised the Embassy clients to contact its visa information service at 02-982-5555 to file a rescheduling date.

 
The Embassy added that “the Consular section will be in touch to reschedule those interviews in the coming few days,” for those with American Citizens Services appointments.

“For emergencies involving U.S. citizens, please contact the American Citizen Services Unit of the U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section through the after-hours emergency telephone (632) 301-2000 or (632) 708-9703,” it said.
