Man drives off in luxury vehicle

A car thief drove off with a brand-new luxury vehicle on Sunday afternoon in Quezon City.

The still unidentified man is now being sought for stealing a Range Rover worth P8.8 million from a car dealer’s shop on Katipunan Avenue.

Case investigator SPO1 Rogelio Basbas said an employee of the car dealer, Jonathan Menina, said the man had introduced himself as Kenneth Ocampo, expressed interest in buying a Range Rover and handed over a check for 2.5 million.

On Sunday, the man took the car for a test drive, accompanied by another employee, Antonio Idanan. However, the suspect gave Idanan the slip and sped off in the vehicle.—Julie M. Aurelio
