Briton dies in escalator fall at Australian airport

SYDNEY – A British man has died in Australia after falling from an airport escalator, police said Friday.

The death, on Thursday evening, occurred after the man toppled over an escalator railing at Brisbane’s international airport. The death was not believed to be suspicious.

“Police are preparing a report for the coroner after a 42-year-old man from the United Kingdom died at Brisbane airport,” a Queensland police spokeswoman told AFP.

Brisbane’s Courier-Mail said the man had been due to catch an international flight on Thursday night.
